The Cardiology Associates of Northeast Arkansas, P.A. Foundation is an organization that assist in meeting the need to reduce death and disability from cardiovascular diseases, Arkansas's and the nation's number one killer, and provide medication assistance to those in need.
Our Foundation is the only one of itsf kind serving the state of Arkansas. The foundation was organized in 2004, by the Cardiology Associates of NEA group, because of the devastating numbers of death and disability due to cardiovascular diseases, the need for prevention and cardiovascular disease risk factor education and to assist in making Arkansas healthier. Arkansas is ranked first in childhood obesity. The combined prevalence of adults who are overweight and obese in Arkansas is 60.9%. Over 45% of the deaths in Arkansas are from cardiovascular disease and stroke, and Arkansas has the 7th highest death rate in the nation due to cardiovascular diseases.
For these reasons, our Foundation has chosen five primary areas of focus: Women and Heart Disease, Children and Cardiovascular Health, Corporate Cardiovascular Health, AED (automated external defibrillators) Placement and a Medication Assistance Program that helps people who have no insurance, or do not qualify for government assistance, to receive their cardiovascular medication.
