MEMPHIS, TN - Four suspected gang members of the Crips street gang are being held by Memphis police in connection with as many as 20 business robberies.
The four face state robbery charges as well as federal firearms charges.
Police say many of the robberies were at fast-food restaurants where employees and customers were forced to lie on the floor or were locked in storage coolers.
One of the suspects was arrested Friday when police spotted a car fitting the description of one seen by robbery victims. Officers found a .38-caliber handgun and items of clothing matching descriptions given by robbery victims.
The four suspected gang members were identified as Jonathon Williams, Mario Abston, Robert Brown and Carletha Caraway.
