SeMo Ethanol Plant on Hold

SIKESTON, MO - A proposed southeast Missouri ethanol plant is now on hold, and investors are getting their money back.

Bootheel Agri-Energy planned to build the plant in Sikeston.  Chairman David Herbst says investors can expect to get their initial quality investment back within 10 days, and the interest within the next month.

Herbst says issues came up just before a Jan. 24 deadline that could not be resolved between the lender and the contractor.  He says the board is exploring other options but wouldn't comment on how the action affects the possibility of building the plant in Sikeston.
