AN OUTBREAK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IS ANTICIPATED THIS AFTERNOON
AND EVENING.

ALL INTERESTS IN ARKANSAS ARE URGED TO MONITOR WEATHER
BULLETINS...AND SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE PROTECTIVE SAFETY
MEASURES AS REQUIRED.

A COLD FRONT...APPROACHING EXTREME NORTHWEST ARKANSAS LATE THIS
MORNING...IS FORECAST TO ACCELERATE EASTWARD DURING THE AFTERNOON
AND EVENING HOURS.  AHEAD OF THIS BOUNDARY...UNSEASONABLY WARM AND
MOISTURE CONDITIONS PREVAILED.

UPPER LEVEL ENERGY...NOW OVER EASTERN TEXAS...IS FORECAST TO MOVE
NORTHEASTWARD THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THIS FEATURE WILL PROVIDE
LARGE SCALE LIFT...TO OVERCOME A CAPPING INVERSION ACROSS THE REGION.

THE FRONT WILL FOCUS THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT AS IS ACCELERATES
EASTWARD. THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP QUICKLY...AND WILL
LIKELY ORGANIZE INTO A SQUALL LINE.

FORECAST VERTICAL PROFILES OF TEMPERATURE...MOISTURE...AND WIND
INDICATE THAT ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS ARE QUITE FAVORABLE FOR THE
DEVELOPMENT OF SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORMS. DAMAGING WIND GUSTS ARE

WIND ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM THIS MORNING TO 6 PM
CST THIS AFTERNOON.

A DEVELOPING STORM SYSTEM OVER THE SOUTHERN PLAINS STATES WILL
APPROACH ARKANSAS LATER TODAY. SOUTHERLY WINDS IN ADVANCE OF THIS
SYSTEM WILL INCREASE AS THE MORNING PROGRESSES AND CONTINUE
THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON. WIND SPEEDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WILL BE
COMMON OVER THE NATURAL STATE. WIND GUSTS TO AROUND 30 MPH WILL
ALSO BE POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY OVER PARTS OF CENTRAL AND EASTERN
ARKANSAS DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS.

A LAKE WIND ADVISORY INDICATES THAT WINDS WILL CAUSE ROUGH CHOP
ON AREA LAKES. SMALL BOATS WILL BE ESPECIALLY PRONE TO CAPSIZING.

    After several reported wrecks involving students on County Road 431 near the Valley View High School, the school district is desperately wanting a solution to the gravel road.
