FROM A THUNDERSTORM OVER CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY...WITH ISOLATED
REPORTS ELSEWHERE.

STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS THE WARNED AREA
THROUGH THE LATE EVENING HOURS. SOME OF THESE STORMS HAVE PRODUCED
TORRENTIAL RAINS OF OVER ONE INCH PER HOUR. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL
AMOUNTS OF ONE OR TWO INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNED AREA.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED ACT QUICKLY. MOVE
UP TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

AMOUNTS AS HIGHS AS ONE INCH PER HOUR. THE AREA OF STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE INTO THE LATE EVENING HOURS BEFORE
COMING TO AN END. TOTAL RAINFALL FROM THIS SYSTEM COULD BE AS HIGH
AS 3 INCHES OR MORE.

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...AND PONDING OF WATER IN URBAN

THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE ON THE INCREASE THROUGHOUT THE AFTERNOON
HOURS. THESE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO BE SCATTERED IN NATURE AND
THEY MAY DEVELOP INTO SUPERCELLS.

THESE STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING HOURS.

HOURS OF 4PM AND 2AM. DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL ARE THE
