Mountain View Hospital Heavily Damaged in Storm

MOUNTAIN VIEW, AR - Last night's severe weather damage in the Ozarks of north-central Arkansas caused "significant damage" to the Stone County Medical Center at Mountain View.  The damage forced hospital personnel to evacuate the facility and patients were sent to the Stone County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  No patients or employees were injured in the storm.

The facility's surgery department is open today as an emergency assessment, treatment and transfer center.  Meanwhile, a triage center operated by the White River Health System Service Area treated twelve patients, and ten were transferred to the White River Medical Center at Searcy for treatment.
