Weather Service Surveying SeMo Storm Damage

DONIPHAN, MO (KAIT) - The National Weather Service is busy in southeast Missouri today, surveying damage from a series of storms that moved through the region yesterday and last night.

The large storm system caused damage and claimed nearly fifty lives in Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Mississippi.  While the storms were less violent in Missouri, the region still experienced significant storm-related damage in Ripley, Butler, Pemiscot, Scott and Cape Girardeau counties.
