Forrest City Couple Gives $10 Million to UA

FAYETTEVILLE, AR - A Forrest City couple whose home was designed by renowned architecht Fay Jones has donated $10 million to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville's School of Architecture.

Additionally, Don and Ellen Edmonson also donated $1.5 million to the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and $1.5 million to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.

Don Edmonson graduated from the University of Arkansas' College of Business in 1958.  While on campus, he took a course taught by Jones, who died in 2004.  Edmonson says Jones inspired him to work to achieve lofty goals.

Don Edmonson is retired from directing franchise businesses, which included fast-food restaurants and a hotel.
