A Big Free Meal for the Folks in Stone County

MOUNTAIN VIEW, AR (KAIT) - As we've reported over the past several days, people in Stone County are still in the dark, waiting for electricity to be restored.

Because of that, there are multiple efforts underway throughout the city of Mountain View to take care of everyone without power.

Around noon Friday, the Bank of Mountain View fed everyone who wanted to have a hot meal for free!

They say this is a vital time to remember our neighbors in need.

John Allison, "There's no electricity. They can't get any warm food up here, any hot coffee and we're able to provide all that with the cookers and hopefully they can.  They've got a lot of work to do and a lot of trees to move."

In Mountain View, you will find someone handing out food on every corner.  The United Methodist Church has a shelter set up for those needing a place to stay and a warm meal.
