The ASU mascot change rolls on and with the name "Wolves" a near lock-in for the new choice (despite whether or not it will be "Red Wolves" or simply "Wolves"), a notable ASU alum weighed in on the mascot change. That man is Governor Mike Beebe. Beebe said, "I'm an Indian. I'm still an Indian. I'll always be an Indian. I'll be happy with whatever they end up doing. I'll support it no matter whatever it is, the Wolves or Red Wolves, but it's hard to get that Indian out of you to. I'll be there whatever it is." Beebe's sentiments are shared by many in Region 8. Arkansas State will hold a February 28th ceremony to formally retire the Indian name.

This comes after ASU Chancellor Robert Potts requests the opinion about textbook royalties. State law directs colleges and universities to establish guidelines of faculty receiving royalties from books they require students to purchase.
