Trumann Drug Bust Nails Fugitive, 47 Pounds of Pot

TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) - 47 pounds of pot are off the streets following a drug bust on a federal fugitive Sunday night.

Robert Gerald Britton is the suspect in the case.  Britton had been serving a 7-year sentence on drug and stolen car charges in Texas when he allegedly left the halfway house he was staying in, which is a violation of the sentence.  This was about a month ago.

The marijuana seized, aside from being over 40 pounds worth, was a high-end "hydroponic" marijuana which is more potent and consequenty more expensive.

The drug bust was a joint effort of the Drug Task Force, state police, JPD's PROWL Unit and Truman police.
