Jonesboro Chamber Delegation Heads Out for Annual D.C. Fly-In

JONESBORO, AR - The Future I-555 floodway crossing, Highway 226 Connector, proposed intersection improvements and other items will be the priority subjects of the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce's annual Washington D.C Fly-in.  A delegation of 56 chamber members will leave tomorrow for the nation's capital.

The delegates will visit with Senators Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln, and Congressman Marion Berry and their staffs to update them on priority issues considered important to the region.

The first event is scheduled for Monday night with a reception for the staffs of both Senators.  Tuesday morning the group will have breakfast for Senator Pryor, followed by a luncheon with Lincoln.  The day will conclude with an evening reception with Berry and his staff.

Also, for the third consecutive year, the chamber's Agri-Business Committee will sponsor four ASU students from the College of Agriculture on the trip, as a way to emphasize the importance of agriculture to the region.
