LITTLE ROCK, AR - Legislative records show that five Arkansas lawmakers collected more than $50,000 on top of their legislative salaries last year. The money was in the form of daily travel allowances, mileage and reimbursements for expenses on trips.
Topping the list is Senator Jack Critcher (D) of Batesville. The records show he collected $54,577 in such payments last year, on top of his $16,700 salary for his state Senate position.
Another Region 8 lawmaker, Rep. Eddie Cooper of Melbourne, topped house members in collecting payments beyond salary. He collected $52,625 in addition to his legislative salary of $14,912. Cooper chairs the House Committee on Health.
