Jonesboro House Candidate is First to File

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Jason Whitley of Jonesboro became the first Democrat in Arkansas to file for elective office today. Whitley filed for the District 74 seat in the state House of Representatives, shortly after the filing period opened at noon today in the rotunda of the state capitol.

"I'm anxious to get started," said Whitley.  "I can't wait to make our case to the voters and to get busy representing the citizens of District 74."

The District 74 seat is being vacated by Chris Thyer, who is term-limited.
