Cows Killed When 18-Wheeler Overturns This Morning on I-30

BENTON, AR - Arkansas State Police say several cows died early this morning after the tractor-trailer rig they were in overturned on Interstate-30 and at least two got loose.

Lt. Sedrick Reed said the crash at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday near Benton opened up the trailer and two of the cows got out onto the interstate.  Those two animals were killed when they were hit by passing trucks.  Other cows in the trailer also died.

Reed said no person was injured in the crash.  He said the state's Livestock and Poultry Commission also was investigating the crash.
