Missouri Hwy. Commission Taps Hayti Man as New Chairman

JEFFERSON CITY, MO - A Hayti man has taken over as chairman of the Missouri Highways & Transportation Commission for a one-year term that began today.  Duane Michie has served on  the panel since 2001.

The six-member bi-partisan commission governs the Missouri Dept. of Transportation, which builds and maintains the nation's seventh-largest state highway system and supports other transportation modes in Missouri.

Michie is chairman of the board of the First State Bank & Trust Company and First State Bancorp, Inc. of Caruthersville.  His term on the Highway Commission will expire next March.
