Jonesboro, AR (KAIT) -- You may have seen the monster trucks at the Convo over the weekend, but if you were out early on Monday morning --around 3 in the morning--you may have seen one on Caraway Road in Jonesboro.
Region 8 news obtained dashcam video of the monster truck being driven down Caraway Road in Jonesboro around 2:45 Monday morning.
JPD officer Jim Flanigan noticed no working headlights, tail lights, or bumbers and pulled the truck over.
According to the police report when the driver, Justin E Smith, got out of the truck the officer could smell an odor of intoxicants and noticed Smith's blood shot eyes.
The officer proceeded to perform field sobriety tests on Mr. Smith.
According to the police report, Smith was asked to perform a walk and turn test.
According to the report, he lost his balance during one part of that test and told the officer he had Meningitis and wasn't able to perform that test.
The officer then had Smith blow into a preliminary breath tester, but according to the report, Smith ran out of breath three different times and the officer wasn't able to get a sample of his blood alcohol content.
According to the police report, the driver of that truck, Justin E Smith, was arrested for DWI and taken to the Craighead County Jail.
Smith was cited for DWI, DWI refusal, unsafe mechanical conditions, no proof of liability insurance, and no vehicle license.
