NAFA Rescues Several Starving Dogs in Overnight Raid

LYNN, AR - A raid that stretched beyond the midnight hour resulted in the surrender of several animals to the NAFA (Northeast Arkansans for Animals) RAID Unit early Thursday morning near Lynn (Lawrence County).

According to NAFA spokeswoman Wannda Turner, "Dogs in various stages of neglect were found roaming all over the property.  NAFA volunteers also found kennels and buildings "in filth and disarray."

After several hours of negotiations and accompanied by a Lawrence County sheriff's deputy, the owners of the property agreed to surrender eight of the dogs to NAFA, including two Great Danes.  Turner said one of the other dogs was in such bad shape that it had to be put down.
