Tornado watches, flood watches and flood warnings blanket Region 8 as of this hour, but if you step outside, you'll find the temperatures to be very pleasant. So can we avoid any rainfall, or worse? The economy is a subject of great discussion right now. Some say we're headed toward recession, others say we're already there and still yet others say that it's just a few bumps in the road. One Region 8 community is taking preventative measures to help their local economy. Batesville has formed an economic task force designed to bring in new businesses and keep the current ones from leaving. The decision to do this comes after last year's GDX plant closing and White Rodgers plant closing. "The purpose and the mission of the task force is to try to look at funding sources for economic development projects in other areas of the state." said Bill Walmsley, Chairman of the Economic Task Force. The task force is also examining what is working and what isn't for other cities and communities.

Families expressed remorse that they would be separated during this time but some told us they were leaving it in the hands of a higher power. "I made her, I took care of her for 22 years and now I gave her to God..." said one.
