PIEDMONT, MO - An estimated 200 houses and businesses are flooded in the southeast Missouri community of Piedmont.
There have been no reports of injuries in the community of about 2,000 residents from the flooding on Tuesday.
Wayne County Emergency Management Director Eric Fuchs says McKenzie Creek rose above its banks and then receded. But, more rain was on the way.
A school is providing shelter for some displaced residents. Temporary shelters are being set up to provide places for others.
The flooding comes after several inches of rain hit the town.
Meanwhile, in Winona in Shannon County, there are reports of evacuations as well.
So far, no word on any injuries or deaths related to the flooding.
