Man Shot Outside Cedar Heights Apartment Building

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - JPD says a man was shot Monday while exiting his apartment building at 2009 Cedar Heights.

Reports suggest that Santiago Paz exited his apartment building and walked toward his vehicle, which was in the parking lot to the northwest of C building.  He was then shot at by a black male.  The suspect was located near Paz's vehicle when the first shot was fired.  Witnesses report hearing two to three shots.

Paz was struck with at least one bullet and was transported to St. Bernard Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition early this morning.

JPD says after the shots were fired, the suspect fled North.  He is described as a young black male between the ages of 16 and 22 years old wearing a black shirt and black pants.

If you have any information about his identity or whereabouts, call 870-935-STOP (7867).
