Arkansas Congressional Delegation Calls for Hearings on Record High Diesel Prices

WASHINGTON (KAIT) - Citing their concerns caused by record high diesel fuel prices, Arkansas U.S. Representatives Marion Berry, John Boozman, Vic Snyder and Mike Ross today called for Congressional hearings to look into how the excessive prices are impacting the nation's economy.

The state's Congressional delegation requested the hearings in letters to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other ranking House members.

The Arkansas delegation said that the recent spike in prices has inflicted tremendous hardship on working families whose livelihood is vulnerable to the volatility of diesel prices.  They said that increased diesel prices add to the economic woes faced by working families who are already forced to deal with the rising costs of health care, groceries and high energy prices.
