Pemiscot Authorities Searching for Man Believed to Be Dead

STEELE, MO (KAIT) - Pemiscot County Sheriff's officials have made three arrests in the case of a missing man who is feared dead but have yet to locate the body.

35-year old Dary McIntyre was determined missing after a Pontiac Grand Prix was found Sunday just south of Caruthersville along the Mississippi River.  The car was determined to have been in his possession late Sunday/early Monday.  But when relatives told investigators that they hadn't heard from McIntyre for a "concerned" period of time, suspicions were raised and those suspicions included foul play.

Some individuals in Steele indicated that McIntyre may have been placed in a barrel and thrown into a local drainage ditch.  Other emails to Region 8 News have suggested rumors of extreme mutilation followed by dumpage of the body into a dumpster.  None of these can be verified as the body has still not been found.

With rescue teams, fire fighters and investigators all working together, an extensive search began Monday morning.  It was during the extensive search that information linking McIntyre to three suspects was found.

Once officials spoke with these three yet-to-be-named suspects, evidence mounted that lead to their arrest.  All three suspects were from the Steele, Missouri area.

Questioning of the suspects did yield a possible location of McIntyre as well as the events that led to his disappearance but Region 8 News did speak with Pemiscot County authorities and they have yet to locate McIntyre as of about 6:15 a.m.
