Shoe Manufacturer to Bring 200 New Jobs to Pocahontas

POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) - Atlantic Thermal Plastics (ATP), a footwear components manufacturer owned by Newgrange Group LLC, this morning announced plans to open a new manufacturing facility in Pocahontas.  ATP will employ people immediately, adding approximately 100 more employees by the end of 2009.  The company is locating in a 113,000 square-foot facility, formerly home to Northern Technologies.  The company will invest approximately $3 million in the new operation, which will begin production by June 1.

Newgrange LLC also owns the America's Choice Products plant in Newport, which also manufactures molded footwear and products.  Newgrange is headquartered in North Smithfield, Rhode Island.

ATP will create a polyurethane insole product at the Pocahontas facility.  The product will be provided to clients such as Red Wing Shoes, Wolverine and the U.S. military.  In addition to the insole product, ATP will also manufacture protective rubber boots.
