GCT Student Killed in Car Accident

BEECH GROVE, AR (KAIT) - A Greene County Tech high school student was killed last night in a fiery one-vehicle crash on Hwy. 34 near Beech Grove.

According to an Arkansas State Police accident report, 15-year-old Kymberlee Hicks of Paragould died after being ejected from a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Jonathon Blake, also of Paragould.  The police report indicates the crash occured at approximately 10:20 p.m. when the westbound 1998 Ford Mustang left the roadway out-of-control and then went airborne before striking a tree.  The car then caught fire.

Hicks was apparently not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, while Blake was pulled from the burning car and taken to a Memphis hospital.
