KOSHKONONG, MO - A black bear from Arkansas apparently made its way to southern Missouri only to be hit by a sports utility vehicle and killed.
A Missouri conservation agent says the male bear appeared old and had ear tags from Arkansas. Connie Roberts was driving the SUV as she and her family were returning home Sunday to Brandsville from a fishing trip. She says the bear suddenly bolted onto the road as she was driving about 60 miles per hour, and she hit the animal. The family was not hurt, but the bear apparently died from its injuries.
