Decoding the Teen Language

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - It's a growing trend among teens and it's not going away anytime soon... Texting. But do you know what your kids are saying to one another?

We talked with 3 teens from Nettleton High School, and they say texting is just the way they communicate now.

"It's just much easier and quicker to not have to type it out, you find that you really don't need a-e-i-o-u, vowels really aren't important anymore." Jordan Farris says she texts about 100 times a day and she always uses abbreviations.

LOL, OMG, BRB, BFF, WTF, LMAO.. what do these abbreviations mean? And could it be a code to keep parents from knowing what their kids are saying?
