West Memphis Gaming Park to Expand Hours for Games of Skill

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Southland Park in West Memphis will soon expand the hours it offers video blackjack, video poker and other electronic games of skill.

The Arkansas Racing Commission today unanimously approved allowing the greyhound track to expand its hours of electronic games.  Troy Keeping, the track's general manager, told the commission the additional hours were needed to boost revenue and compete with casinos in nearby Mississippi.

Starting May 12, the track's electronic games will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. Monday through Thursday.  The games will stay open throughout the weekend, starting at 8 a.m. Friday and closing at 4 a.m. Monday.

The track operates about 700 electronic games of skill.
