Memphis City Schools Superintendent Candidates Named

The search for a new Memphis City Schools superintendent was narrowed to a list of five candidates Tuesday evening.

The candidates were named as:

  • Tiffany Anderson, Superintendent of Montgomery County Schools in Christianburg, VA
  • Yvonne Brandon, Deputy Superintendent of Richmond (Virginia) City Schools
  • Kriner Cash, an administrator for Miami-Dade County (Florida) Public Schools
  • Nicholas Gledich, COO of Orange County Schools in Orlando, FL
  • James Williams, Superintendent of Buffalo (New York) Public Schools

The firm hired to conduct a nationwide search for a new superintendent presented its list to the Memphis City School Board, giving details on what each candidate could offer the system, and what led them to select those particular people.

The school board hopes to have a new superintendent selected sometime this summer.
