Deposition for Youngest Westside Shooter Temporarily Delayed

JONESBORO, AR - Attorneys for Andrew Golden, one of the two boys who opened fire on teachers and classmates at a Jonesboro middle school in 1998, have filed a motion to stop a deposition scheduled for tomorrow.

Attorneys representing Golden filed the motion to prevent the release of any information to the public regarding the deposition.

Attorney Bobby McDaniel, who represents relatives of those slain in the Westside shootings, told Region 8 News that he'll oppose the motion in court, saying that the information revealed in the deposition should be public.

McDaniel says that he hopes to re-schedule the deposition soon.

Both Golden and Mitchell Johnson are named in McDaniel's civil suit, filed on behalf of the victims' relatives to stop the two from profiting from the slayings.  McDaniel previously has questioned Johnson, who put much of the blame for the shooting on Golden.
