LITTLE ROCK, AR - A delegation of state lawmakers and local officials from Craighead County met today with members of the Arkansas Dept. of Finance and Administration, but not much was resolved in an effort to come up with a solution to the shortfall collected in the 1-cent countywide sales tax to fund the Bono Lake project.
"We really didn't get too many answers today in Little Rock," said Bono Mayor L.M. Duncan.
Craighead County Treasurer Russell Patton recently sent a letter to the DFA asking it to address the shortfall of approximately $146,000. The tax, collected from October through December of 2007, was expected to generate approximately $4 million for the project, which has an overall price tag of approximately $4.1 million.
