Oklahoma Teen Drowns in Current River

DONIPHAN, MO - An Oklahoma teenager is dead following a weekend drowning accident in southeast Missouri.

The accident happened Saturday on the Current River near Doniphan.  Tyler Snowden, 17, of Strafford, OK was swimming across the river with several other young people.  The teen and his brother began to have trouble and clung to a root wad.  The Missouri Water Patrol says the brother made it to shore but Tyler went under.

His body was found Sunday morning, about 50 yards downstream.
