Paragould Man Murdered in Bootheel

HAYTI HEIGHTS, MO - A Paragould man was apparently murdered in the Missouri Bootheel, and Pemiscot County authorities have a suspect in custody.

Police say the body of 64-year-old Albert Lynn Harper was found at the rear of a farm shop around 7:45 Tuesday morning, just west of Hayti Heights.  Authorities say the victim appears to have died of blunt force trauma to the head.  Harper had also sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest.

The suspect was arrested by Hayti police following an early-morning traffic stop on Tuesday.  The suspect's name has not yet been released.

The incident is being investigated by the Pemiscot County Sheriff's Dept., Hayti PD, and the Missouri Hwy. Patrol's Division of Drug & Crime Control.
