Future of Jonesboro Steve and Barry's Store Uncertain

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - You'd think a store that primarily sells clothing for $10 or less would be thriving in these uncertain economic times, but apparently that's not the case, at least for Steve and Barry's, which has filed for bankruptcy protection.

The company based in upstate New York opened a Jonesboro franchise in 2006 at The Mall at Turtle Creek, but so far there's been no official word on how this may affect the local store.  A corporate spokewoman for the company told Region 8 News this afternoon that no decision has been made yet on the future of the Jonesboro store, and that the company is carefully assessing all stores at this time.

Steve and Barry's operates a little over 200 stores in more than thirty states.
