AG McDaniel Settles with Veterans over Group Donations

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Arkansas' attorney general says American Veterans Coalition will pay the state nearly $34,000 in a settlement it reached over the group's use of money collected to help veterans.

Attorney General Dustin McDaniel sued the Washington-based group in December, arguing that less than 1 percent of the group's donations actually went to veterans or to support veterans' causes.  McDaniel announced the settlement Friday.

The settlement also bans American Veterans Coalition from soliciting donations in Arkansas for the next five years.
