Lawrence County Authorities Make An Arrest In Weekend Murder

IMBODEN, AR (KAIT)  "Through a lot of investigative work by Lawrence County Authorities, deputies, and Arkansas State Police, we were able to obtain enough information to get a warrant for his arrest," said Lt. Stan Finley.

Finley is with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department.

Police say 43 year old Michael Hodges is charged with first degree murder in the death of his 39 year old wife, Sherri Hodges.

Police say she died of blunt force trauma.

Paramedics found Sherri Hodges unresponsive at 201 Main Street in Imboden on Saturday.

Police say Michael Hodges was a person of interest throughout the search for the person responsible for her death.

Police say several days of investigating led them to Michael Hodges, and subsequently a charge of first degree murder in the death of his wife.

"A warrant was issued yesterday evening and we went out and executed the arrest warrant," said Lt. Stanley.

Police say Michael Hodges was taken into custody Tuesday night without incident.

Hodges' bond is set at $500,000.

His first circuit court appearance will be August 25th at 9 a-m in Lawrence County Circuit Court.
