Stoddard County Man Pleads Guilty to Dogfighting Crimes

BLOOMFIELD, MO - A 30-year-old southeast Missouri man is sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to dogfighting.

Jamie Sifford of Dudley pleaded guilty to three counts on Wednesday.  Another 21 counts were dropped.

Sifford was also sentenced to six years for a probation revocation.  The probation was revoked as a result of the dogfighting and drug charges filed against him in October, when authorities raided his farm.

Sifford was on probation after a 2006 guilty plea on drug charges.

Last month, charges were dropped against another man arrested at Sifford's property, 29-year-old Curtis Pickering of South Fulton, TN.

A third man, 30-year-old Jessey Short of Cape Girardeau, also faces dogfighting charges.
