Starbucks to Close Blytheville and Marion Stores, 6 Others in State

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Starbucks Corporation says eight of its stores in Arkansas, including franchises at Blytheville and Marion in Region 8, are among the 600 being closed nationwide.

The Seattle-based company announced earlier this month that it would close 600 company-owned stores in the U.S. starting in July and continuing through the first half of the next fiscal year.  But Starbucks didn't say at the time which locations would be shut down, until yesterday.

A list released on the company's website says the stores to be closed in Arkansas, in addition to the ones at Blytheville and Marion, include two at Rogers, as well as Lowell, Malvern, North Little Rock and Van Buren.
