Arkansas Game and Fish Commission officials will hear two duck season proposals at their monthly meeting tomorrow. The normal 60-day season may be cut to 45 days because of fewer ducks. The US Fish and Wildlife Service is expected to make a season recommendation the first week of August. The Game and Fish Commission will set Arkansas' season at its August meeting. Hunters, including Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee would rather have a lower bag limit instead of cutting the season's days. But state waterfowl biologists say that won't help the dwindling duck population.
