West Memphis Opens New Distribution Center

WEST MEMPHIS, AR (KAIT) - A grand opening announcement and celebration was held today for the new distribution facility in West Memphis operated by DSC Logistics.  The 600,000-square-foot facility at 3271 Infinity Parkway will employ 50 people.

"The logistical advantages of West Memphis make it a great site for the location of this distribution facility," said Governor Mike Beebe, who was on hand for the event.  "The location and workforce here create a strong place to invest, and East Arkansas families will benefit from the new jobs this facility brings."

DSC, a logistics and supply chain management company headquartered in Des Plaines, Illinois, works with several Fortune 500 companies, mid-sized high-growth businesses, and small companies, operating in the consumer packaged goods, food, healthcare, electronics and other arenas.  The company is a regional distribution partner for the J.M Smucker Company and will exclusively distribute Smucker products from the West Memphis facility.  Smuckers is the leading manufacturer of fruit spreads, peanut butter, shortenings and oils, ice cream toppings and other related products in North America.
