WW2 History Comes Alive In Paragould

PARAGOULD (KAIT)  Next week we'll see the 63rd anniversary of the end of world war 2.   With veterans passing away at over a 1000 a day, this portion of American history is quickly fading. Friday and Saturday reenactors will be bringing a bit of world war 2 to Paragould.

Saturday will mark the 63 anniversary of the atomic attack on Nagasaki, Japan which led to the end of World War 2 on the 14th.

Today and tomorrow a bit of WW 2 history is coming alive in Paragould.

When you visit the display this weekend you will have a chance to see actual period era weapons and equipment ranging from ww2 through Vietnam and today.

One piece you will see is a rare Ford ww2 vintage jeep.

George Jones, Jackson, TN. "They made about 250 thousand jeeps. At peak production they was one coming out about every 15 minutes. Amazingly there are only 5 thousand in the world today either in private hands or in museums."

There are weapons, phones, tents, supplies all things that have made up the soldiers kit in times of war.

The display will be there this evening and Saturday  till about 5.

The Paragould County Museum is located at 130 S. 14th in Paragould.
