Southeast Missourian Gets New Editor

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO - The Southeast Missourian newspaper has a new editor.

Managing editor Bob Miller moves up to replace veteran editor R. Joe Sullivan, who led the Cape Girardeau newspaper for 14 years.  Sullivan will remain on staff as editorial page editor and news consultant, completing a yearlong transition.

Miller is 32 and has worked at the Southeast Missourian since 1997 except for a brief stint at the St. Lous Post-Dispatch.  Before he was managing editor he was a news and sports reporter and news editor.

Miller's wife, Callie, is managing editor of special publications at the paper.

Sullivan has been an editor for 36 of his 43 years in the newspaper business.  He took over as editor in Cape Girardeau in 1994.

    According to Craighead County officials, the Craighead County Road Department will have CR 522 east of Hwy 139 closed throughout Tuesday night due to the road being repaired.
