Authorities raid poker game in Shelbyville, TN

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities have raided what they called a Shelbyville gambling operation, arrested 33 people and seized $48,000 in cash.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said a building was raided Tuesday night where they found four commercial poker tables with room for 10 players each plus a dealer.

Agents said each player purchased up to $1,000 in poker chips with a portion going to the house out of every hand.

Those arrested face various gambling charges.

The TBI said the matter has been under investigation for four months.
