MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Memphis Fire Department says seven people have died in a house fire.
Lt. Keith Staples told The Associated Press that firefighters don't yet know the ages or gender of the victims. He says the cause of the fire isn't yet known. It broke out about 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
Fire officials told The Commercial Appeal newspaper that search crews discovered the bodies after extinguishing the flames.
The newspaper reported that an 11-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl were sent to hospitals.
Firefighters were investigating the scene in the Orange Mound neighborhood of Memphis.
