NLR Police Make Arrest in Woman's Death

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - A North Little Rock woman has died of multiple stab wounds and her former boyfriend has been arrested. Police say they found 48-year-old Mary Williams in the yard of a residence Saturday afternoon after officers were called to the home.

Williams was taken to University Hospital in Little Rock, and died later from her injuries. Police say Williams and her former boyfriend, 60-year-old Dan Simpkins Jr., were in an argument earlier and Simpkins stabbed Williams.

Police arrested Simpkins on a first-degree murder charge. He was being held without bond in the Pulaski County jail.
