Update: Woman arrested at school after saying she had a bomb

PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Paragould Police Chief Stephenson says a woman was arrested after she walked into the Greene County Tech Primary School and told them she had a bomb Tuesday afternoon.

Shawna Johns was arrested without incident and no one was injured.  It happened at the school's campus on South Rocking Chair Road near the end of the school day.  Police also impounded her green Dodge Caravan and searched the school.  Police did not find any explosive device.

GCT Assistant Superintenden Amy Lucius says none of the students were ever in any danger.

"Parents might have been walking in to check the children out because they have to sign in.  She was isolated in the office at all times.  Our doors to the classroom are locked at all times so she would never have access.  They're locked from the outside, but you can get out from the inside,"said Lucius.

Region 8 news will continue to track this story in Greene County and bring you the latest information as it becomes available.

Editor's note:  It is newsroom policy that we do not report bomb threats at Region 8 schools unless there is a legitimate threat to students and faculty; an arrest has been made in connection with a bomb threat; or the learning process has been severely altered.
