Large Scale Power Outage Strikes Craighead County

JONESBORO (KAIT) -  A power outage around 5:15 pm Saturday, crippled areas in and around Jonesboro.   Many stores and theaters were forced to close or suspend business, including those at the Mall at Turtle Creek and elsewhere.

Traffic signals were dark as well, resulting in some congestion at the busier intersections.  Motorists are reminded to treat an intersection with non-working traffic signals, as a four-way stop, and use extreme caution at each intersection.

Some power is being restored gradually at this hour.  Region 8 News is tracking this story and will have more information as it becomes available.
