Morning Windstorms Bring Widespread Power Outages across Region 8

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Craighead Electric Cooperative Corp. reports that electric service to approximately 1,200 members in the co-op's eight-county territory in northeast Arkansas have been interrupted by high winds this morning.  Outages are scattered mainly caused by trees and tree limbs breaking from the wind.

"We would like to stress, if you see a power line down to stay away, it could still be energized," said Brian Duncan, president/CEO of Craighead Electric.  "And please call the Craighead Electric outage number at 1-888-771-7772.  We are working dilligently and safely to restore service to our members as quickly as possible."

Craighead Electric serves approximately 27,000 members in eight counties in northeast Arkansas.
