Jonesboro, AR (KAIT)- Jonesboro Police have arrested 35 year old Oscar LeShawn Reynolds in connection with a robbery at the Liberty Bank at 765 E. Matthews early Tuesday afternoon.
Police say Reynolds entered the bank around 12:45p.m. and told tellers that he wanted to open a new account. Sometime during this transaction, Reynolds reportedly pulled a pistol on the tellers, and then he demanded an undisclosed amount of money. The bank tellers cooperated, and Reynolds then fled the bank on foot.
Later in the afternoon police tracked Reynolds down, and say they found money inside the residence where he was staying that matched serial numbers of money reportedly missing from the Liberty Bank location. At this point he was taken into custody on charges of aggravated robbery.
The Liberty Bank location on Matthews closed for the remainder of the day. Meanwhile, Reynolds is facing 10 to 30 years of jail time as a result of his actions today.
Reynolds was also arrested for robbing the same bank back in October of 2007, but he was acquited on those charges. Region 8 News also reported back in September of 2007 that Reynolds had been arrested for assaulting and robbing an elderly woman at the Post Office in downtown Jonesboro.
