Youth Judging At The Fair

JONESBORO (KAIT) Relatively speaking there are very few kids that live on farms anymore. However many still have an active interest in agriculture.

At the Northeast District Fair FFA members and 4-H'ers took the day to judge animals and weeds and insects and some wheeled a tractor around

Chelsea Jones from Bay had a few technical problems with her tractor but after she got it going she managed pretty well.

"After I got the feel of it it was much better...have to watch the starting and stopping, ...kind of ran over the trailer."

Tisha Nunnelly of Black River High School gave me the insight on animal judging.

"Size and how it looks. If it's a girl how feminine, if it's a guy how masculine. Um pretty much how it looks to the contestant."

When you visit the fair be sure and check out the animal barns for the best in Cattle, Swine, Goats, Rabbits and Poultry.
